Day 13: Knowledge Imparted is Wisdom Gained

Updated: Feb 16, 2023

The Cadets from the Philippine National Police Academy (PNPA) rendered a Courtesy call to the Regional Director, PBGEN Lawrence Baldan Coop. I can attest to the importance of the Station Immersion Program and a courtesy call to the leadership of the local police force. These experiences have provided the cadets with a deeper understanding of the unique challenges and opportunities of policing in different areas.

My station immersion experience in Cagayan de Oro City was a valuable experience that allowed me to interact with the local community and understand their needs and concerns. It allowed me to apply what I had learned in the classroom and see how it is put into practice in real-life situations. The immersion program also helped me develop a greater appreciation for community policing and its role in establishing trust and building relationships with the community.

The courtesy call was a highlight of the station immersion program. It was an opportunity for us to gain insights and guidance from seasoned police officers and better prepare ourselves for our future roles as police officers. The Regional Director's emphasis on integrity, duty, and service resonated with me and reinforced the importance of upholding these values in my future profession.

Moreover, the tour of the Regional Police Office provided me with a glimpse into the different units and functions of the local police force. It was interesting to learn about the specialized units, such as the K9 unit and the Bomb Squad, and their crucial role in maintaining peace and order in the City. The visit also allowed me to interact with other command staff members and ask questions about their experiences in policing.

Overall, the immersion program and courtesy call were essential steps in my training as a future police officer. It allowed me to gain valuable insights and learn from the experiences of the local police force. It also reinforced the importance of community policing and the need to establish trust and build relationships with the community.

As I continue my training in the PNPA, I am grateful for these experiences that have prepared me for my future role as a police officer. I look forward to applying the knowledge and skills I have gained from my immersion program and continuing to uphold the values and morals in my future profession.
